The old saying 'leopards don't change their spots' is actually true! You cannot change someone else's intrinsic personality. But the good news is that by changing and/or adapting your own behaviour, you can bring about a change in theirs.
To be able to recognise and influence the behaviour patterns of others, and adapt our behaviour accordingly, we must first understand more fully our own behaviours and emotions. Whether you have a tendency to deal with difficult encounters aggressively or be submissive, the skills and strategies for becoming more assertive are the same.
